Brian Brunius

Brian is a practitioner of Usui Shiki Ryoho in the lineage of John Harvey Gray. He is the founder of the NYC Reiki Center where he works full-time, and President of Reiki Centers of America. Brian is a member of The Reiki Alliance, and currently serves as its Finance Administrator.

Diane Domondon

Diane is a Reiki Master Instructor in the Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition. She sees clients and teaches Reiki classes full time. While participating in the Grey Book project, she served on the Board of Directors for Reiki Centers of America, and is a member of The Reiki Alliance.

Paul Mitchell

Paul Mitchell learned Reiki from Hawayo Takata in 1978 and was one of the twenty-two Masters she acknowledged. Paul was a founding member of The Reiki Alliance and in 1993 joined Phyllis Furumoto as Head of the Discipline of Usui Shiki Ryoho. Together they formed the Office of the Grandmaster. Now working with Johannes Reindl and Joyce Winough, he is committed to the life-long inquiry into the healing, growth, and spiritual development which is the promise of Reiki practice.

Susan Mitchell

Susan learned Reiki from Hawayo Takata. She was the first director of The Reiki Alliance from 1988-1998 and an editor of the Dutch Reiki Magazine International. She helped curate the Hawayo Takata archives now housed at the University of California, Santa Barbara. In 2019 Susan had the honor of editing In Her Own Voice, A Tribute to Phyllis Lei Furumoto, 1948-2019. Susan is one of the founders of Reiki Unified, a nationwide effort to oppose regulation of Reiki practice in the United States.

Johannes Reindl

Johannes Reindl has practiced Reiki since 1995 when he took his first degree class in his home country of Austria, aged 17. He has traveled the world since then taking part and assisting in Reiki and Aikido workshops offered by Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki masters and the Office of the Grandmaster (OGM).  Johannes trained for mastery with Phyllis Furumoto and was initiated by her as a master in Japan.  In 2019 he was recognized by Phyllis as her successor in the spiritual lineage of Usui Shiki Ryoho.

Dr. Justin Stein, PhD

Justin B. Stein, PhD (University of Toronto, Study of Religion, 2017), is an historian of spiritual practices at sites of connection between Japan, Hawaii, and North America. His work on Reiki, including original translations of historical Japanese-language materials, has been published in peer-reviewed journals (including Asian Medicine and Japanese Religions) and has been translated into German, Japanese, and Romanian. Stein completed a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science International Research Fellowship under Ōtani Eiichi at Bukkyō University in Kyoto, Japan (2017–2019) and currently serves as Instructor in the Asian Studies Department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Joyce Winough

Joyce Winough has been practicing Reiki for 32 years. Trained in First Degree by Helen Haberly and Second degree by Jean Ferris, a master of Helen’s, and initiated as a Master by Phyllis Furumoto in 2002. Joyce started a professional treatment practice in 1993 and has taught Reiki since her master initiation. She traveled with her wife Phyllis Furumoto as an event coordinator for Reiki events, classes, retreats, and tours to Japan until her spouse passed away in 2019. Joyce continues her Reiki journey and commitment to Usui Shiki Ryoho as a member of the Reiki Alliance and UK Reiki Association, presenting the Takata Archive Project, and working with Johannes Reindl and Paul Mitchell as a member of the Office of the Grandmaster since 2020.
