Alice Takata Furumoto published the Grey Book in 1982 as a gift to the Reiki Masters her mother, Hawayo Takata, had initiated. The Grey Book Team wants to continue this legacy of generosity by offering translations of the original text as a gift to the worldwide Reiki community.
Phyllis Furumoto realized the necessity of translation so that students everywhere could access Reiki. She honored the translators and interpreters as “the threads that connect us as an international community.”
We want to continue to build these bridges of communication by providing translation of the Grey Book on this website, at no charge. We’ve begun with eight languages and hope to include every language requested. At this point, the cost of each translation is 1000 USD.
